They look like Royal Army Service Corps from the cap badge, out in Malaya perhaps?

it is good of you to look after this photo of our former warriors,after all they defended our freedom to be able to do this today.it looks like soldiers from the fifties,possibly the Malay campaign,DO YOU KNOW WHICH REGIMENT?

What else can you tell us about this photo. I see an Enfield rifle on the center subject and the other 4 have Sten guns. I think the beret's were only worn by airborne, commandos and SAS. Maybe a few other units. Hal Moore (google him) had a good title for this photo. "We were soldiers once...and young"

i don't know what unit this is. he (my grandfather) was stationed in Hong Kong, and was in Sheko in 1953.
i know he was a driver, and i want to say it was sas but it will take me a while to get information.

Don't go to the trouble of digging it up for me but you might find an interesting story behind it. If you can get a good image of the crest on the beret you can probably start from there. Good luck if you decide to research it to death.

Lovely photo, and an interesting story behind it too. I want to use this in something now-- love the smiles too, on everybody but the second guy across, who just looks a little sceptical.
