hey dudes ...
so yesturday i said that i would do a journal about my findings on why humans kiss? ... oddly enough there are an awful lot of 'how to' sites .. i'm like isn't it just instinct? i mean you have a style, a way you prefer things to go ... but surely noone is sat/stood/laying there thinking ... 'ok now for step four : slowly opening the mouth' ... erm ... that just sounded wrong ..... but you get what i mean...
anyway WHY WE KISS :
they (scientists and such) don't know .... disappointing .... there isn't an exact reason that everyone agrees ...
the oddest one is this : kissing may have evolved from primate mothers' practice of chewing food for their young and then feeding them mouth to mouth. ... to be fair if i kissed someone and there was food involved ... i would most likely run screaming.
or ... mate selection .. i mean pretty much you'll only kiss someone you're attracted to so in this theory it's testing to see if the attraction is worth it... some evolotuionary psychologist named Gordon .. says 'kissing involves a very complicated exchange of information - olfactory information, tactile information and postural types of adjustments that may tap into underlying evolved and unconscious mechanisms that enable people to make determinations ... about the degree to which they are genetically compatiable'
or ... pheromones ... all about pheromones ... kssing would be an extremely effective way to pass them from one person to another ...
the best reason is that humans like doing anything that feels good ... human lips enjoy the slimmest layer of skin on the body, and are the most densely populated with sensory neurons of any body region. so it just feels good ... which it does
if you wanna read the whole report it's in Scientific American or
[link]STUFF I DID FIND OUT
kissing is complex stuff : it takes a total of 34 facial muscles and 112 postural muscles to kiss someone ... which is possibly why if you're not into it it feels like a lot of effort...
mononucleosis and herpes are two sexy partyfavors that can be transmitted from locking lips.
kissing could lower stress levels, increase relationship satisfaction and ... erm lower cholesterol levels ...
69% of people will kiss tilting there head to the right.
and guess what ladies .... guys get more out of kissing then us girls do ... apparently the levels of oxytocin (which is involved in social recognition, male and female orgasm and oddly childbirth) are higher in guys after kissing ...meaning girls need more than just kissing to feel emotionally connected or sexually excited...
and finally no there is no such thing as 'just a kiss' ... kissing where the tongue is involved (saying anything to do with tongues really grosses me out) tells a guy that this potential 'mate' is up for being more physical ... girls are better at judging the difference from kissing someone and wanting to have your own little sexy time with them ... so while you're thinking ... it was just a kiss ... he's thinking ... 'your place or mine'
if a kiss is bad, or feels bad ... it just means your partner .. or you .. aren't reading the signs.... kissing is a two sided thing so you have to commuicate what you like and what you don't ... and if your partner isn't paying attention it's not going to be pleasent ...
SO TO SUM UP
ok that's it end of the post .... kissing is just this weird thing we do and we don't even know why we do it...
